Daddy's Birthday

Adam's 35th birthday happened while I was on a blogging break (April 19th) so this post is a little late but certainly not forgotten. He has been receiving gifts in the mail ever since then so I guess he is having a birthday month. On his birthday we went out to dinner to Glorias. It was the 5 of us, Mammie, Dee, E, Sis, Lesli and Christina. The children were the center of attention as usual.

They brought him a happy birthday flan. When we got home he opened gifts and had his birthday treat. He chose chocolate chip cookies with icing. I know what you are thinking, no cake from me, but my family is pretty sick of cake since it is around all the time. Yes, Logan came right in and changed into a basketball uniform. The boys do this most of the time.

After we sang Happy Birthday to Adam Landry wanted us to sing to her too and then she wanted to blow out a candle by herself. Of course we let her.

We love Mammie

Mammie's birthday was yesterday. Layton was born on her birthday 4 years ago. On that day she said she didn't need another birthday after that day. She just said she would give that day to him. I guess in a way she did since children tend to get the majority and attention of everything but we sure haven't forgotten her. She is such a wonderful grandmother and mother to all of us. She loves being with all of us, especially Log, Layt and Land. Each year (like my Nana always did with us) she colors eggs with the kiddos the day before Easter. Here is their session of egg coloring this past year.
Can you tell that they love the hot pink color that this egg changed to?
Mammie bought Sesame Street coloring kit for Sissy.
The boys got a Star Wars coloring kit.

Layt was so impressed with Mam because she made a striped egg for him.

After the eggs she let the boys dip strawberries in chocolate for our dessert on Easter. They were so good. I think Logan ate at least 10 by himself and then hid the last 2 for his lunch box the next day at school.

Happy Birthday and we love you so much Mammie!

Happy 4th Birthday Layt

Today we celebrate 2 of my favorite people in the world. Today is Layton's 4th birthday and it is also my mom's birthday. (I will let her tell you her age if she wants to.) Today I'm going to show pics of Layt through his long 4 years. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat just thinking about this time 4 years ago. I've decided that kid's birthdays should also be a celebration for the mommy too. Here he is just minutes old weighing in at 8 lbs. 13 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.
One day old
I've never known a more proud or loving big brother.
My 3 boys! Two days old.
Three days old.I caught you in the pantry having yourself a little snack. You still love fritos!
You loved it when Mopsy kissed you. It grossed us out!

With your most loved things in the world, mini guys!
Happy Birthday my sweet angel. We all love you so much.

What a sweetie

When I was at co-op teaching last Friday I looked up and Adam walked in my room and brought me these roses. They were very pretty on Friday but they have continued to become more and more pretty. They smell heavenly too. Thank you sweetie. Here is how they looked on Saturday.
This is what they looked like on Monday.

Happy Rainy Monday

Happy Rainy Monday morning to you! I love to take pictures of the kiddos before church on Sundays. Here they were a few weeks ago. We didn't get any yesterday, we were running to late to get any pictures but rest assured they looked precious! Stay dry and Happy Monday from the Gerhart Gang!

How adorable are these?

Aren't these flip flops adorable? Landry
calls them "clip clops" and she LOVES them.
My friend, Marnie, and I made them. She
did the cute bow part and I wrapped them and
put them all together. She is going to be at
Aspasians tomorrow so go by and find her to
see some other precious designs she has. She
also makes wonderful hairbows and jewelry.
She will be in area 3 in the parking lot behind
State Farm Insurance at the intersection of
Interurban and Goliad. E-Mail her with any
questions at: parkmarn@yahoo.com

A Good Friday

On Good Friday I decided we weren't just
going to hang around the house all day. We did
several fun things. We started the day with a
few "shows".
Then we set out for the train park.
This is our favorite park in Rockwall.

We had been wanting to visit the new Costco
and so this day was a super day to go. It was
great. We even ate lunch there. (By the way
there pizza is very good and you can get a
hot dog and drink combo for $1.50) As we were
eating Logan said, "This is like a vacation!" (I
guess we don't get out much!) The kids loved
Costco and we bought several fun things.

Then we ended our day with popsicles outside
while I was baking (who's surprised about that?)
It was a really Good Friday.
