Stone Briar Mall opened a new Lego store. We went on Saturday afternoon of opening weekend. WOW! We walked in the mall and the line was right inside and down the enitre mall hallway. We took turns standing in line for about 2 hours. Then we finally made it in and it was so crowded and the line to pay went all the way to the back of the store and around to the back of the store again. It was a great adventure! Here is the line to get in the store through the whole mall. There were several life sized lego models in the store. Here is Indiana Jones.
They also had a Master Builder event where the kids could come and build a part of the giant 8 foot R2-D2 lego structure. It was super fun for the kids to be able to help build it.
Monday afternoon we went to Harry Myers park for a little fishing. They were basically jumping on the line. We put corn on the hook and caught tonz of fish. They were all very tine but it was fun. There were so many that the kids actually got tired of fishing and went to the playground. Adam taught Logan to take the fish off the hook by himself and made him do it. It took a while but he was successful several times.
Landry wasn't scared of the fish and even wanted to hold one.
Layton and mommy went fishing at Morgan Pyatt's 4th birthday party. He caught 3 fish!
This doesn't really have a purpose except it's funny to me. For those of you who know Landry you know she doesn't eat a very large variety of foods. This day I grilled hot dogs and she said she wanted one and so I reluctantly put one on her plate just for grins. Before we could all sit down she was already eating it. We all stopped and looked at her with wide eyes and watched as she ate almost the entire hot dog. WHAT? This probably won't ever happen again so I grabbed the camera to save the moment forever. Also, notice her hair. This was the day that they had all been outside playing (reason for the red cheeks) and she came in and said, "I need a hair band. My hair is windily". I guess it was blowing in her eyes so she wanted me to put my stretchy hair band on her head. Funny girl!
Okay, I promise this will be the last post about Layt's birthday. I know he has been 4 for 3 weeks now but I just had so many photos to share. This was on his actual birthday (April 28th). Adam and I (and Logan was so excited about it this year) like to blow up balloons and put them all around the birthday person on their actual birthday morning. This way they wake up covered in balloons and it leads to (hopefully) a very special day for them. This day Layton had crawled in bed with us early in the morning and fell back to sleep so yes, he is in our bed. Also, yes, he is sleeping in a Spiderman costume. Whatever works, right mommies?
We woke him up by singing Happy Birthday to him. He was obviously excited!
We each (mommy, daddy, Logan and Landry) gave him a new pack of "mini guys". These are his most favorite things in the entire world and I knew this would make for a super day for him. He ripped into them rather quickly.
How precious is this photo? He was so happy to get the mini guy pack that Logan gave him. My favorite part of this picture is Layton's cute little bottom in that costume and Logan's face. He was so excited to give them to Layton. He really wanted this day to be special for Layt.
Here are all the Star Wars mini guys all set up and ready for battle. This is ALL he did all day on his birthday, play with Star Wars mini guys. Yes, that's a mini trampoline in the background. The mini guys also fought on and around that. It was their planet.
Logan and Adam are in Royal Ambassadors at church on Wednesday nights. This is a missions organization for 1st-6th grade boys. They had a recognition service to honor all the boys and their accomplishments. They earned dog tags for each little activity they did throughout the year. Adam is the 1st grade teacher and he really enjoys being with all the boys. Good job boys! Saying the Royal Ambassador pledge and song
Darth Vader was a huge hit with the kids. Here are some pics of all the kids at the party. Thanks again everyone for braving the bad weather and coming to celebrate Layton's birthday. Our fam of 4 Zachary & Marshall Bohlen Jake Overstreet & Jackson Cilio

Because of all the rain we had to change gears and have the party inside only. It was a tight fit but we were all fine.
Layton and Jake are so alike in their personalities. They always have a good (mischievous) time together.
