What does a 10 year old think?

What does this 10 year old know? Well he of course knows his name and age and all those things it's fun to ask little ones. He still knows he is great at legos. I agree! I truly believe he could be a lego master as an adult if he still decides to.

A: You bake cakes for celebrations.

A: I'm not really asked to do a lot of bad work.

Logey is 9

His last year of single digits. I can't believe it! Logan wanted to just invite 2 friends and have pizza and a chocolate chip cookie cake. For all of you who know about Babycakes, I am embarrassed about this cake. This is what he wanted, chocolate chip cookie cake with NO icing. He is simple and I hated it, but that's what he wanted!
We also went to Shenaniganz and rode go carts, played lazer tag and games.

Miss Landry hit the big winner and won 500 tickets on the wheel of fortune! We were so excited for her!

Grandparents Day at WPA

Logan's school had a special grandparents day breakfast one morning. Mammie got to go with Logey. What a cute picture.

1st day continued

Well when Logan came home from school he said, "Everything is SO different in 3rd grade. It's like I was in 2nd grade and going into 5th or something."

First day of WPA

Logan's first day of school started great. He was getting dressed and said to me out of the blue, "mom, last year you went overboard with pictures on my first day, can you not do that today?" WHAT?

I'm thinking, We're already here? We're already to the point where the boy child doesn't want his mother to take pictures? I guess it lasted for almost 9 years now but I'm not ready for this. Adam heard him saying this and laughed and said, "your mom will take your picture on your first day of everything until you leave for college, get used to it!~"

YES I WILL!

I asked him what a good amount of pictures was that I could take. He said maybe 6 or 7.

He was good though and didn't limit my pictures for the rest of the morning.

I love this picture. I have taken one from behind walking in for each year of each school and I love to see how everyone changes and evolves from babies in a stroller to being held to walking alone.
3rd grade is departmentalized so he has 4 core teachers and 2 elective teachers. First period is language arts with Mrs. Baughier. We love our school and are blessed to have this alternative to public school. It works best for us and we are so thrilled to be a part of the WPA family.

What?

This sweet thing is now a 3rd grader. Yesterday was his last day of Wylie Prep and he is home for the summer. YEA! What a sweetie!

Undefeated Season

Logan's basketball team, the Jackets, went undefeated this season. It was a wonderful experience to be on this team. Everyone on the team was a friend and it was coached by the Rockwall High School varsity boys basketball coach, Alan Simmons. Here they are at a tournament during the championship game that they won! It was a great season!

Basketball

Logan is playing basketball now. He is on a team with several friends and the coaches are the Rockwall High School Basketball coaches. Their team name is the Jackets and they have "real" uniforms. Logan chose to wear the #20 jersey because he wanted a big number. Adam has of course been at each practice but for his first time as a parent he is getting to just watch and not coach. He is really liking being able to just watch Logan and not worry about everyone. Their first game was last week and they won 20-0. Way to go Jackets!

No, Logan isn't flipping you off. He is showing off his first jammed finger. It was swolen and bruised for a few days He has been very proud of it. It must be a boy thing!

Logan's Feast

Wylie Prep had a Thanksgiving feast too and they dressed in Colonial period costume. Here they are at their feast eating a feast (those of you that know Logan can imagine all the "feast" he had on his plate)

Open House at WPA

We had Fall Open House at WPA. Each grade got to display some of their work. Here is Logan's Safety First poster about Blizzards. Notice his new pose!

Logan got an award for placing 2nd in the Speech Meet.

He was the narrator part of the 2nd grade performance. He had an entire page of dialog to read and he did an excellent job. He didn't stumble on any words and was loud, etc. We are so proud of him!

They played a video complied from about a dozen children. The question they asked was, "What do you like about Wylie Prep?" I didn't know Logan was going to be on the video so I had to shoot this really quickly (that's why it's so fuzzy) His answer was, "Because you get to learn and talk about God in our class". It brought tears to my eyes and all I could think was, "That's why we spend the money each month to send him here." This is what we have chosen and this is what's right for our family.

Spirit Day

Friday at Wylie Prep was spirit day because of the football game that night. Logan got to wear his new spirit shirt and jeans. He felt really neat because this is the shirt that all the kids have, even the upper school. He also got to wear his new jacket from Mammie. She gave it to him for his birthday and we had the school logo put on it. Isn't he a sweet boy?

1st Day of WPA

Today was Logan's 1st day of school at WPA (Wylie Preparatory Academy) Doesn't he look precious in his little uniform?

Here are all his little uniforms lined up as I ironed them last night. Yes, I ironed!

This is what he had set out to wear this morning. They have to wear navy shorts or pants and either white or red polo shirts. We ordered them all at Land's End. I love the WPA logo. We had to get new tennis shoes, mostly white. I love how good Logan is about this. He doesn't complain about having to tuck in his shirt or wear a belt or any of it.

This is as we were walking in this morning. I love these pictures from the back and I have one from each year since 4 year old preschool. Please notice Layton pulling his backpack too. He brought it with us in the car and then as we got out he said, "Hey, I need my back pack too." It was adorable. He pulled it all the way in (empty) and through the atrium, up the stairs, through the hallway to Logan's classroom. Then he stood there and held it and as we left he pulled it behind him all the way back to the car. Oh, and by the way, Layton says character backpacks are for babies! I tried to talk him in to getting a Batman or Clone Wars backpack but he would ONLY have a plain one on rollers like Logan.

Here is his face as we were walking out this afternoon. When I picked him up he said, "I loved it! I want to go here forever!" Thank you to everyone for all your prayers and support and e-mails and calls. I can tell a HUGE difference from Monday until today and it really helped. Love all of you!
